- Lesson progress
- Exercise 1 – the end of the chorus
- Exercise 2 – Chorus end loop
- Exercise 3 – Brain scramble fill
- Exercise 4 – 7/8 outro and fill
- Exercise 5 – Chorus, outro and fill
In this lesson, we’re going to cover the second chorus, which is nearly identical to the first, but with a few small differences that I’ll point out. We’re also going to cover a modern fill that I introduced to the song, which doesn’t appear on the album version.
Exercise 1 – the end of the chorus
In this first video I’ll show you how to play the last two bars of this second chorus, as they differ to the first chorus.
Exercise 2 – Chorus end loop
Now we’re going to do one full loop of the six bars which end the chorus.
Exercise 3 – Brain scramble fill
Now we’re going to learn how to play the fast stack/tom fill which ends this chorus.
Exercise 4 – 7/8 outro and fill
Exercise 5 – Chorus, outro and fill
This is a pretty big challenge, but if you’ve gone through all of the exercises in this lesson so far, then you’re 100% capable of playing this note-for-note. Remember to start slow and build up, and utilize natural movements which don’t cause your arms to tense up.
