Overview
This lesson covers the middle section of Nocturne – this is the hi-hat section immediately after the chorus. The good news is that we already know how to play the first half of this section as it’s the same beat as the verse. So we’re going to focus on the second half of this section. On the original recording, we programmed an off-beat hi-hat pattern. Over the years, this beat evolved into a different and, I think, more interesting groove, so that’s what I’m going to show you today.
