In this lesson we’re going to realize a way to use the 3/2 Polyrhythm within a groove. The groove itself is going to be a simple ‘1’ and ‘3’ kick snare beat but while keeping that simple count, we’re going to place a 3/2 polyrhythms between the right hand and the left leg, on the pedal hat. The pedal hat will keep the three-count and the right hand will keep the two’s.
This ‘feel’ is used at the beginning of the song ‘Luminary’ by TesseracT, and it’s used to great effect as implying the ‘3’ count on the left foot then allows me to play into the following beat, which follows the three rather than the ‘2’, that leads throughout the intro of the song.
